H&HM Mongol v Hungarian
This scenario pitted a 22 unit Mongol army comprising 15 units of light cavalry and 5 heavy cavalry with 4 generals, against a 28 unit Hungarian army with 8 units of heavy cavalry at its core, supported by mounted and dismounted crossbows, archers and 9 units of militia with 5 generals. The total po...

WWII: Escape the Falaise pocket (Sunday game )
This was an all-day gaming session in which we managed to conclude 2 games with players swapping sides at ‘half-time.’ The terrain layout was constructed by Dave Mac and he provided all the miniatures as well as the venue – his games room. The scenario was based on the German endeavour to safely rem...

Teutonic Order v WOTR Yorkists (round 2)
After the recent epic and very close game between these two armies, we had to have a re-match – same armies, different terrain layout. We shuffled the players around using the dice – top 3 scores (Mike, Dave and I), v bottom 3 scores (Tony, Chris and Alex). The first three got the Yorkists and the B...

Re: Infantry definition in H&H medieval fantasy
Hi Palewarrior,
RE: Page 12 moving backwards or sideways. "In a hand-to-hand combat situation only A and B class infantry can move backwards."
"Infantry" in my opinion should only mean 'human' infantry. Any orcs, rats, trolls etc. regardless of their class would be therefore be excluded.

H&HM Teutonic Order v WOTR Yorkist
This game between two very high-quality armies was always destined to be a very close and challenging encounter. The Teutonic army had 25 units all ‘B’ class apart from the 4 units of ‘A’ class Teutonic mounted knights. The 26 units of Yorkist army, again, were all ‘B’ class with the exception of th...

WW II: Escape the Falaise pocket
This scenario gave the German players the task of enabling assets to escape from the Falaise pocket by crossing safely across the length of the table, edge to edge. The British players would have the task of stopping or destroying these assets. IMG_3666.JPG The Germans had a PAK 40 anti-tank gun and...

Re: In search for the right miniature
Hi Zoshakan, I've been scanning the H&H ranges trying to find the 'best fit' and I must admit that it has proved difficult to find a near match. Eastern European armoured infantry (H-3003) is one possibility, they have tunics covering their armour but have no cloaks. These could be added using model...

H&HM Ottoman Turks v Romano British
This game saw a 29 unit Romano-British army pitted against a 25 unit Ottoman army, both of which had 5 generals and one of these was a ‘hero general.’ The British army had the greater numbers and higher class of troops compared to the Ottomans’ greater mobility and shooting capabilities, by virtue o...

H&HM Romano British v Samurai
This large 6 player game pitted a 29 unit Romano British army against a 27 unit Samurai of equal points and 5 Generals a piece. Andre, a non-playing club member placed all the terrain pieces and we diced for choice of armies, which players were on each side, first deployment and first move. The resu...

Samurai (late) v 100 Years War French
Following their very narrow victory over the Ottoman Turks in the previous game, we thought we would pitch the same French army against a late Samurai army. This would be a very different type of game with the strengths of both armies based on hand-to-hand combat and far less on missile shooting! Th...
