Interesting replay. I am not a fan of showing any missile troops as being capable in close combat. Trained archers were an expensive resource and ill-suited to melee type situations. I like the the way the battle developed into a critical turn, with the intervention of commanders needed to restore the situation - good narrative coming from the rules.

This scenario was actually inspired from a 2 hex situation in a boardgame. I tok that action and moved it onto ` 12 x 9 hex grid.
